Facebook comment by Jennifer Gee - I have been riding consistently the last few weeks after I did your course and feel more myself than I have in a while. Thank you!!

Does this sound like you?

  • You're tired of feeling nervous, anxious or scared.
  •  You find yourself stuck in endless "what if?" thinking.
  • You make excuses not to ride.
  • You only ride when conditions feel "just right."
  • Riding isn't fun anymore.

If you're nodding your head... you're not alone.

My Story

When I completely lost my riding confidence - I couldn’t even put my foot in the stirrup.

And I was a riding coach and horse trainer.

I tried pushing through.

Positive thinking.

Telling myself to "just do it."

None of it worked.

Then I discovered something important...

The way most riders try to overcome fear actually makes it stronger.

Here’s what I changed.

  • I stopped beating myself up...
  • And I started using the mindset techniques you’ll learn inside Stop Riding Scared.
  • The “Stop Sign” that snapped me out of the “what-if” thought cycle and into “I CAN do this”
  • Curiosity and Desire that kept me present and aware of what I truly wanted, why I wanted it, and how to get it.
  • Internal motivation that had me focus on what I wanted without outside pressure

Why fear stays stuck

The big problem?

You've probably been taught to overcome fear by:

✘ Trying hard

✘ Overthinking

✘ Analysing everything

✘ Focusing on what you're do wrong

✘ Beating yourself up

Every time you ride like this, your brain learns that riding is dangerous.

That's why the fear keeps coming back.

Instead...

You can learn the six mindset techniques that helped me retrain my brain to feel calm, focused and confident again.

Many students tell me they notice a shift as soon as they start applying the first technique because they're finally working with their brain instead of against it.

The Techniques Inside Stop Riding Scared Will Help You:

  • Stop the catastrophic "what-if" thinking that keeps you feeling anxious and stuck.
  • Turn your excuses for not riding into definite “YES”! Because you’ll know how to truly assess risk - instead of seeing everything as dangerous
  • Stop struggling with self doubt, analysis paralysis, and self-criticism

What you'll Learn

Inside Stop Riding Scared you'll discover:

What's Really Behind Your 'Nerves' And Anxiety

There's a real reason that you can't just 'cowgirl up' and push through your fear. In fact, pushing through it can make it worse! When you understand WHY it's happening, you can stop being so hard on yourself (because beating up on yourself doesn't help you either).

How Changing Your Posture Helps You Feel More Confident

With these posture tips, you'll feel more confident, communicate with your horse more clearly and be better balanced - on the ground as well as in the saddle.

The exact steps to  Take the instant your Fear starts

The sooner you notice the physical signs of fear, the easier it is for you to stop them from controlling your thoughts and actions. You'll feel calmer and more in control in just a few short minutes.

How to calm your frantic thoughts

You can't stop thinking, but you can change what you're thinking about. Learn how to stop the 'what if's' and other negative thinking patterns that keep you feeling nervous, fearful and stuck. This is much more than positive thinking (which doesn't really work). You'll feel better about yourself and about riding.

Techniques used by professional and Olympic athletes

Everyone - even professionals and high level athletes - feels nervous at some time. You'll learn the same techniques that they use to keep themselves focused and calm so they can perform at their best ability. And, so can you!

Susan had fear in certain situations when trail riding. She refreshed her enjoyment of riding - and handled her fear of “critters” she saw on the trail.

Stacie had been afraid to mount her horse since she adopted him. She learned how being in the moment made everything more relaxed - in a huge way.

If you've been waiting until you "feel confident enough"...

You could be waiting forever.

Confidence doesn't come before riding.

It grows when you learn how to work with your mind instead of fighting it.

Let's get you back in the saddle—and enjoying every ride again.

Meet Your Coach - Anne Gage

It is incredibly frustrating when you know you can ride, but your brain won't let you.

I know because I've been there.

When I completely lost my riding confidence, I was a riding coach and horse trainer with decades of experience.

Then there was that ONE fall.

Suddenly, I was the one making excuses not to ride, stuck in "what-if" loops, too scared to put my foot in the stirrup, and wondering where my competence had gone.

"Pushing through" and positive thinking didn’t help.

So, I went deep into the science of the rider’s mind, combining my riding, and horse behaviour expertise with NLP and hypnosis.

I learned how our brains actually process risk and fear.

I applied these specific mindset shifts to my own riding, and the anxiety vanished.

I was back to being the calm, capable rider I knew I was.

Now, with over 35 years as a coach, horse trainer, and author of "Confident Rider, Confident Horse", I’ve spent the past 20 years helping riders find their confidence.

I’m sharing with you those exact, practical tools inside Stop Riding Scared.

No fluff, clichés, or positive thinking.

These are the practical psychological techniques you need to get out of your head and back to enjoying every ride.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: I've been riding scared for years. Is it really possible to change now?

A: Absolutely. Confidence isn't a fixed trait; it’s a skill. Many of the riders I work with have been dealing with riding fear for a long time. This mini-course gives you physiological and psychological tools to reset your nervous system, regardless of how long you’ve felt this way.

Q: I'm an older rider / I'm coming back to riding after time off. Will this still work for me?

A: Yes. Most of the riders I work with are older. Some  have returned  to riding after a break or a life change. Their nervousness has nothing to do with how much they know. Others are just starting out - finally pursuing their lifelong dream of riding. It's not about your knowledge or experience. It's about your nervous system needing a reset, and that can happen at any age or stage.

Q: Will this work for my specific discipline (English, Western, Trail, etc.)?

A: Yes. Fear and anxiety feel the same regardless of which discipline you ride or whether you're preparing for a show or heading out on a hack. The "Stop Riding Scared" principles apply to any rider who wants to feel more confident and calm, no matter what type of riding you do.

Q: Is this just "fluffy" motivational talk?

A: Not at all. As a coach and trainer with 35+ years of experience, I have no interest in "hype." These are the same practical techniques - working at the conscious level - that I used to regain my riding confidence. You'll get actionable steps, not "positive thinking.

Q: Do I need to be at the barn or on my horse to do these lessons?

A: No. It’s best to do the work and learn these techniques in the comfort of your home first. The 7 bite-sized videos are designed for you to watch on your computer, tablet, or phone, so you can build your mental toolkit before you even step into the barn.

Q: How much time will this actually take?

A: Each video is less than 10 minutes. Most riders get through all 7 in a weekend. Practicing the techniques takes a bit longer - that's up to you and how quickly you want to feel a change. Overall, the course itself isn't a big time investment.

Q: How long will I have access to the course?

A: You get lifetime access. Confidence can ebb and flow, so you can return to these lessons whenever you need a refresher or if a new challenge pops up in your riding.

Q: I've had a severe trauma from a riding fall or injury. Will this course help me?

A: This course teaches conscious techniques that can help you feel calmer - the same ones I used after my own fall. But severe trauma often lives at a deeper, unconscious level, and that's not something a self-paced course can fully address on its own.

If that sounds like your situation, take this 3-minute confidence quiz first — it'll point you to the right next step based on what's actually driving your anxiety. Or if you'd rather talk it through with me directly first, email me here and tell me a bit about what happened.
